10. Remove the microprocessor from the socket.

If you are replacing the microprocessor, leave the release lever extended in the release position so that the socket is ready for the new microprocessor

and go to "Installing the Microprocessor."

If you are removing a second microprocessor and not installing another one, remove the VRM and then continue with step 9.

11. Replace the airflow shroud (for the Dell Precision 650 computer, see "Microprocessor Airflow Shroud" or for the Dell Precision 450 computer, see

"Microprocessor Airflow Shroud").

12. Close the computer cover.



13. Connect your computer and devices to electrical outlets, and turn them on.
