Using the hardware details from Appendix B, Figure 7, we performed a cost analysis of the two server
configurations. We summarize of this analysis in Figure 9.

We found that the SSD configuration cost less than three times as much as the HDD configuration, while yielding
over 10 times the database performance. This significant difference in cost per orders per minute yielded a difference of
$0.13 per OPM for the SSD configuration versus $0.45 per OPM for the HDD configuration.
