Telneting to the Switch to Manage a Port

To Telnet to the switch to manage a port:

Step Icon Task

1 Right-click on the port that you want to manage. If you have not logged into the CLI, Node

Manager prompts you to do so.

2 From the pop-up menu, click Telnet to Device. Node Manager displays a Telnet window

and automatically invokes the CLI commands that enable you to manage the selected

port.

Note: You can do anything in this Telnet window that you can do by telnetting into the

switch in a more conventional way. In other words, you can manage other ports, run

global show commands, etc.

3 Make your changes using the CLI.

4 To terminate the Telnet session, click File  Disconnect. To terminate the session and

close the window, click File  Exit.
